We become permanent owners
It gives me immense pleasure to let you know that in January, we became the permanent owners of three artifacts that we have held on loan from the National Museum of Wales, Amgueddfa Cymru. Two of these being iconic symbols for the museum - the overshot waterwheel in the museum grounds and the Simpson beam engine in bay 5. It has taken some years for this to come to fruition and as they are items of national importance, it is pleasing to have secured them as part of our collection.
A special edition of Waterwords giving the full story of how these artifacts became part of the museum and their significance, makes an enthralling read. My thanks to Richard Curtis for providing the research and photographic journey of these artifacts.
