WW2 veteran Nancy Billings
On Sunday 13 October, the museum was lucky enough to be visited by Nancy Billings for WWII Home Front Day. Born near Coventry, during the Second World War she moved to Hereford, where she worked at the Rotherwas Ordnance Factory. She was just 19 when the factory was targeted by the Luftwaffe in July 1942, with a bomb hitting the very shed she was working in. Nancy was glad to see the authentic WWII vehicles visiting.
Our new volunteer, Tom Quinsey, spoke to Nancy over a cup of tea.
